Marco Panconesi, who once dreamed of being an archaeologist, studied ancient myths, Latin, and Greek. His education in Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance and a hotbed for radical design movements and innovations, continues to influence his aesthetic. After graduating from Polimoda in 2011, Panconesi has designed accessories for fashion references such as Mugler, Gucci, Givenchy, Cartier, Balenciaga, and Rihanna, before launching his eponymous brand in 2018. In 2020, he was appointed as the Design Director at Swarovski. Standing on the shoulders of giants, from Michelangelo to Galileo, Panconesi demonstrates that one can be of another time while still being an actor in our current era. His design studio is based in Paris, and all his own collections are handcrafted in a family workshop in Arezzo, Tuscany, made from 925 silver, vermeil, or bronze dipped in palladium and 18k gold. Recognizable for their organic and avant-garde shapes, Marco Panconesi's designs are born from the geometry of dreams. Each piece is a miniature sculpture that sets the body in motion in a playful and liberated manner. Driven by a sense of play, Panconesi turns to a radical past to forge a new future: the surreal landscapes of Superstudio, the melting and smiling forms of Gaetano Pesce, the exuberant color language of Memphis. Provoking tradition awakens new families from the elements. He creates a new language of jewelry, where opposites attract and complement each other: tradition and disruption, art and fashion, heritage and radicalism.
