Hum
Founded in Tokyo in 2012 by Tomohiro Sadakiyo and Yuka Inanuma, Hum was born from a fascination with metal and its infinite possibilities. Their work is guided not by design, but by the material itself — an intimate dialogue with craft, where each experiment becomes a step toward a unique language.
As trained artisans, they developed their approach through hands-on practice, inventing their own tools and techniques to imprint new textures onto metal. Their research is rooted in history and anthropology, drawing on Claude Lévi-Strauss and the way material culture reveals social structures. Inspired by fine art, fashion, music, and philosophy, Hum explores how complex ideas can be translated through meticulous craftsmanship.
In their Tokyo atelier, a team of eight artisans crafts each piece entirely by hand — from the first copper or silver prototype to the final finishes in 18k gold or platinum. Raw and antique-cut diamonds are chosen for their singular character, giving each jewel a vibrant, soft, and organic presence.
Designed for free spirits, Hum’s jewels transcend ornaments. They become a path, a resonance, a “hum” — the quiet echo of a craft that speaks without words.
