Coral
Coral is a marine material that grows underwater in branching, tree-like formations. Used in jewellery since antiquity, it exists in several varieties: red coral from Japan or the Mediterranean, golden coral from China, and black coral from the Pacific, all originating from reefs in warm seas. Today, its harvesting is strictly regulated to protect the ecosystems in which it thrives.
