"Founded in 2017 by New York–based designer Jean Prounis, Prounis creates jewelry conceived as a dialogue between past and present. Drawing on her Greek heritage and the visual legacy of the Versailles — the New York nightclub founded by her great-grandparents — Jean Prounis designs pieces that function as vessels of memory, shaped by history and by the passage of time.
Inspired by ancient art forms and symbolism, each creation is hand-wrought in recycled 22-karat gold — the house’s signature — and set with thoughtfully sourced gemstones, diamonds, pearls, and coral, chosen for their individuality rather than perfection. Many of these stones were cut prior to the 1970s, anchoring each piece in a historical continuum while reducing environmental impact.
Crafted entirely in Manhattan’s Jewelry District, Prounis jewelry reflects a rare commitment to artisanal production in New York City. Designed to age with the wearer, these modern heirlooms accumulate marks, texture, and presence over time — becoming intimate objects that carry life’s imprints and endure as personal legacies."
