Sara Beltran’s career path took form somewhat unexpectedly while she was living in New York and working as a stylist. Her talent as a designer was quickly spotted by Bruce Weber who asked her to create pieces for his personal clothing line. Her styling days where behind her and « Dezso » was born.
In 2009, Sara moved to Jaipur, India, where she now spends most of her time, working out of her studio.
Sara’s childhood in her native Mexico, was her very first source of inspiration. She grew up near the beach and has made of the seashore her main work tool : Blowfish spines, coral fragments, shells and the now iconic shark tooth are among the items she works into her fine jewellery line.
Her attachment to India allowed her to widen the spectrum of inspirations she now also finds in colourful stones like chrysoprase and kyanite but also raw-looking polki diamonds. Sara casts them into ocean inspired molds and sets them into 18 carat gold.
