Wing Yau is a New York-based designer born in the Pacific Northwest. Hailing from a background in sculpture at Rhode Island School of Design, she assisted NYC artists and galleries before falling into design.
After making a series of necklaces based on textile sculptures, Wing developed WWAKE in 2012 with the intention of merging art with the intimacy of jewellery. WWAKE quickly evolved in its use of materials and has since developed into the full line of fine jewellery that it is today.
Inspired by the tradition of art breaking with convention, Wing offers a new perspective on heirloom jewellery. With a thoughtful balance of tension & scale, WWAKE re-contextualizes jewellery into unexpected arrangements and modern silhouettes. The pieces deliver the experience of art through simple & valuable objects.
The jewellery selection is defined by signature contour shapes, unexpectedly light stone arrangements, and other-worldly stones. All WWAKE jewellery is crafted in New York with the finest quality materials and conflict-free diamonds.
Since its launch WWAKE has been recognized by publications such as The New York Times, Vogue, W Magazine, Elle, and Glamour, to name a few, and has been worn by celebrities such as Rihanna, Cate Blanchett, and Emma Watson.
