STÉPHANIE ROGER FIRST MET AT OUR MONT THABOR STORE, WHERE ISABELLA BOUGHT A PIECE OF JEWELLERY. STÉPHANIE GOES FOR LUNCH EVERY OTHER DAY AT ISABELLA’S MAISIE CAFÉ NEXT DOOR. THEY SHARE THE SAME LOVE OF BEAUTIFUL, AUTHENTIC THINGS AND TASTY, HEALTHY FOOD.

DAY 1
Stepping into a mid century modernist dream in a desert oasis, Palm Springs welcomes me back with its unmistakable hot desert air and golden afternoon light casting over its mountains. The sky has this pink hue that will only last for a fleeting sunset.

DAY 2
Waking up in the wee morning hours the sun is already high up in the sky blinding me as I step out of my bedroom and onto the patio. I sit on the edge of the pool for an early coffee to fight jet lag. On the other side a huge cactus plant is facing me, making me feel like part of this desert landscape.

DAY 3
I step through the steel and glass open space and the flat rooftop house that blends seamlessly with the surrounding nature. A quiet minimalist feel that will let light come in, and where each object is carefully selected.

DAY 4
Later in the morning we go for a walk into Palm Springs, where I feel this curated mood for art and design. Retro aesthetics will mix with the steel and glass architecture of the buildings and the natural beauty of the desert. The colour palette strikes me, the unique blend of the beige and pink hues of the desert with the pop colours of mid modernist architecture , turquoise , coral . Lush palm trees infinitely high line the streets. Quietly looming in the next street is the desert and I am reminded of the power of nature and diving into its timeless influence.

ISABELLA CAPECE'S FAVOURITE ADDRESSES
Palm Springs is the dreamy modernist architecture destination where this blinding desert sun always shines.
1. The one thing I would not miss is a visit though the local residential architecture called Desert Modernism born in the 1940, 1950.
One floor houses built with steel materials and the utmost minimalist design, sliding glass panels blending seamlessly from indoors to outdoors.
2. Indian Canyons, the green desert oasis that you can visit south of Palm Springs will reveal surprising water streams and the best treks around.
3. My favourite go to eating place is Vegan Coffee shop Chef Tanya , the yummiest location with a mean rancho sandwich sauce!
4. Village Fest: Every thursday evening go to this open market on the main road of PS called Palm Canyon Drive. You will find every local collectible, craftmanship, plants, fruits, food. From 6 to 10pm.
